Course Launch — Build Like a Dev

You use the internet every day.
You have no idea how it works.

Build Like a Dev is a live 9-session course that takes you from confused to capable. You will understand every layer of how websites work — and walk away having built and deployed one yourself.

The Problem

Nobody ever explained the full picture.

Most people trying to get into tech hit the same wall. They watch tutorials. They copy code. They finish a YouTube video and still have no idea what actually happened. The problem is not effort. The problem is that nobody ever explained the full picture.

What is a server? Where does your code actually live? How does a browser know what to show you? How do databases connect to what you see on screen? What is a framework and why does everyone use one? Why do some developers charge 5x more than others?

These are not advanced questions. They are the foundation. And without them, everything you build is shaky.

You have watched tutorials but you cannot connect what you learned into something real.

You know HTML and CSS exist but you do not know where the backend fits in or what it even does.

You have tried to deploy something and it broke and you did not know why.

You see developers building things and charging real money and you cannot figure out the gap between where they are and where you are.

You are in a CS degree and campus has not taught you how any of this works in the real world.

Who This Is For

If this sounds like you, you are in the right place.

This IS for you if:

  • You are in campus studying Computer Science or a related field and campus is not giving you the practical side.
  • You have just finished campus and want to start building things people will actually pay for.
  • You can do some HTML or CSS but the rest of the picture — backend, databases, deployment — is a blur.
  • You want to build websites for clients or for your own ideas and you do not want to fake your way through it.
  • You are tired of tutorial hell and want a structured path from someone who has actually built and sold real products.

Who This Is NOT For

This is not for someone who wants a certificate to put on a CV. It is not for someone who wants to passively watch videos and call themselves a developer. This course requires you to show up, engage, and build something. If that is not you right now, come back when it is.

The Promise
By the end of this course, you will understand every layer of how websites work — and you will have built and deployed one yourself. No gaps. No "figure the rest out yourself." You leave with the full picture, hands-on experience, session recordings to revisit, PDF notes to keep, and a community of people building alongside you.
What You Will Learn

9 Sessions. Every Layer. Nothing Skipped.

Each session runs live on Google Meet, 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM on weekday evenings. Every session is recorded. Every session comes with PDF notes and supporting material so you always have something to go back to.

Module 01 01

How the Internet Actually Works

What happens the second you type a URL and hit Enter? This session breaks down the full journey — DNS, HTTP requests, servers, responses, and browsers. By the end you will be able to explain what the internet is doing behind every website you visit, and why understanding this makes you a better builder from day one.

Outcome

What a request and response is. What DNS does. How browsers render pages.

Module 02 02

The Frontend: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Three technologies. Three different jobs. Most people learn them separately and never understand how they work together. This session connects all three — what HTML structures, what CSS controls, and what JavaScript does to make pages interactive.

Outcome

Why all three exist. How they connect. What frontend actually means.

Module 03 03

The Backend: Servers, Logic, and APIs

The frontend is what users see. The backend is what makes it work. This session explains what a server is, what happens when a form is submitted, how data moves from a browser to a database and back, and what an API is and why every modern application uses one.

Outcome

What a server does. How APIs work. What backend logic actually means.

Module 04 04

Databases: Where Everything Lives

Every application stores data. This session covers what databases are, the difference between relational and non-relational, what SQL is and what it does, and how your application talks to its database.

Outcome

What a database is. How data is stored and retrieved. What SQL does.

Module 05 05

Web Frameworks: What They Are and How to Choose

Nobody builds from scratch. This session explains what a framework is, why they exist, and walks through the landscape — Laravel, Next.js, React, SvelteKit — and how to make the right call for your build.

Outcome

What a framework solves. The major options. How to choose the right one.

Module 06 06

Building with AI: Tools, Not Crutches

This session teaches you how to use AI as a genuine build tool: how to prompt correctly, how to use it to accelerate your work without becoming dependent on it.

Outcome

How to use AI to build faster. What not to delegate to it. Why fundamentals matter more now, not less.

Module 07 07

Hosting and Domains: Where Your Code Lives

What is a server and where do you get one? This session demystifies hosting and domains — real options, real costs, what makes sense for different kinds of projects.

Outcome

What hosting is. How to pick the right type. How domains connect to your site.

Module 08 08

Deployment: Taking It Live

This session walks through the full deployment process step by step — from local machine to live URL. You will deploy something in this session.

Outcome

How to deploy a project. What the common failure points are. How to get a site live and keep it there.

Module 09 09

Your First Real Project (Final Session)

This is not a tutorial clone. You will build something that is yours using what you have learned across all 8 sessions. By the end it is deployed and on the internet with your name on it.

Outcome

A deployed project. The confidence of having built something real. A clear next step.
